HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

I would like to blame it on the snow. But thats not true. I blame it on the fact that we (Malachi and I) are the BIGGEST procrastinators in the WORLD. If anything can get done at the very last moment and then some...thats us. I wanted to make this be the exception. I wanted to send our Valentines day cards and have them get to where they're going before Valentines day 2010 (which just happens to fall on Sunday). I sent them out this past Monday, even though I calculated that they'll prolly get to Australia a day late, but I can alway blame that on the time change. I have had ONE response that they got to where they were going, so here is the card you would've seen, and I hope will touch soon.

Something about snow....

.....Makes me wanna take lots and lots of photos. I Think its cause I grew up next to a beach and snow fascinates me!!! Oh and here are some photos of Brett I took in the snow today. Lots of funnn :)

Its hard to convince people that I JUST take photos. I don't make people look gorgeous, I am the last person I'd ask for any fashion advice!

Its just a lil past 11 pm. The excitement of snow hasn't worn off so we (Malachi, Brett and I) went to take more pics. It wasn't snowing as dramatically like it was a couple hours ago, But it made for some fun shots and didn't get my camera as wet :)

That was one of the quotes thrown around at the PPSC photography convention Malachi and I attended on Monday.

We walked away inspired and challenged to be better photographers. Not for our sake, but the peoples lives whose story we tell.

Right after my kids woke up from their nap at around 5 today I noticed it was still light out so I grabbed the closest camera to me, which happened to be my rebel xt. It was a wedding gift from my parents back in 2006. It is not my main camera and I haven't really used it in a while, We upgraded to a 5D mark 2 this time last year. On the rebel was a 50 mm 1.4 lens.

To be honest with you, i couldn't be happier if these were taken with the 5D. I've been challenged to really not let gear define me and make the best of what we got. Its a pretty good feeling :)))

Family: Nathan, Tracey and Lucy.

So I've been admiring the Rouse family for a while. We attend church together and might catch a glimpse of each other between services. Its been too much fun watching little Lucy grow from when we moved here in February 2009 and just wild! to see her running around. We took a stroll through Freedom park, Charlotte together and I just let them do their thing. Lucy ADORES her parents and is such a cuddle bug. These pics were beyond easy to take, despite the freezing temperatures. I have so many favorites which makes me so glad theres no limit to how many pics I can post...cause there were LOTS of magic moments with this family
