My Love and joy is found in my family whom I have God to thank for. My awesome awesome loving, supportive and so giving husband Malachi, and my 2 kids Hannah (2) and Judah (1) who I get to chill with all day!! My photography is an overflow and a reflection of how i live my life. I ADORE life. I LOVE color! capturing raw emotions is such a privilege. Blessing those around me with a love that GOD has given me and my family supports me wholeheartedly. seriously, could life be better than this?
Its hard to convince people that I JUST take photos. I don't make people look gorgeous, I am the last person I'd ask for any fashion advice!
This is especially true of Lydia, one of the most beautiful I know. Inside and out. ere is a sneak peek of our running around this afternoon before all the snow completely evaporated....good times.
Its just a lil past 11 pm. The excitement of snow hasn't worn off so we (Malachi, Brett and I) went to take more pics. It wasn't snowing as dramatically like it was a couple hours ago, But it made for some fun shots and didn't get my camera as wet :)
Can you handle all that handsome?!
*disclaimer* Malachi likes this pic and INSISTED I post it.
It matters little how much equipment we use; it matters much that we be masters of all we do use- Sam Abell
That was one of the quotes thrown around at the PPSC photography convention Malachi and I attended on Monday.
We walked away inspired and challenged to be better photographers. Not for our sake, but the peoples lives whose story we tell.
Right after my kids woke up from their nap at around 5 today I noticed it was still light out so I grabbed the closest camera to me, which happened to be my rebel xt. It was a wedding gift from my parents back in 2006. It is not my main camera and I haven't really used it in a while, We upgraded to a 5D mark 2 this time last year. On the rebel was a 50 mm 1.4 lens.
To be honest with you, i couldn't be happier if these were taken with the 5D. I've been challenged to really not let gear define me and make the best of what we got. Its a pretty good feeling :)))
So I've been admiring the Rouse family for a while. We attend church together and might catch a glimpse of each other between services. Its been too much fun watching little Lucy grow from when we moved here in February 2009 and just wild! to see her running around. We took a stroll through Freedom park, Charlotte together and I just let them do their thing. Lucy ADORES her parents and is such a cuddle bug. These pics were beyond easy to take, despite the freezing temperatures. I have so many favorites which makes me so glad theres no limit to how many pics I can post...cause there were LOTS of magic moments with this family
ENJOY!
Nathan, Tracey, Lucy: Thank you for spending your afternoon with me and for all the laughs and giggles :)
This afternoon while my kids were watching some tv I took the chance to "write" with the light falling on them from outside.I challenged myself not to use flash. It was a fun learning moment and I do love it when I intentionally take pics and they turn out the way I planned it......
